Want to work/volunteer in South Africa?

Want to work & experience Africa?
Just an hour & a half from the Kruger National Park!
The area is rich with scenic, natural & wildlife attractions.
Attractions like the biggest Baobab tree in the world, the Sacred Lake & Sacred Forest, White Lions & the Biosphere of the Soutpansberg mountain that is host to the biggest concentration of Leopard in the world.

Previous volunteers enjoyed Lalapanzi Hotel so much that some extended their visa's, where others just wished to stay longer. Lalapanzi has a very laid back & friendly atmosphere, where everyone feel's welcome and part of the family, which also include a few animals.

Alica Brüchert

I came to South Africa after I finished school. I had no specific expectations, I just knew that it would become a great time for me, as I love your country! The first couple of days I was a little shy but I lost it quite fast. From week to week I felt more comfortable as I got to know the guests and staff better. And the first time I've been there I seldomly spoke German so I got used to the language and had fun learning Afrikaans as well. Inga and Marius have been the best guest parents I could have imagined 😉 so I felt at home right from the beginning. The tasks and work I had to manage were various and interesting. Most of the time I worked as a bar-lady, talking to guests gave me the chance to get to know the people and the country better, and to meet friends as well. During my time off, some of my new friends or my lovely guest parents showed me around. I visited the Kruger National Park and flew to Capetown for holiday. Living directly at the home made me feel at home and I really miss the time over there! If I had the time and the chance to come back I would not hesitate!

The position will be mainly as a Bartender, but may include reception, conference/wedding set-up & assistance, if needed.

If you have some other skills like (maintenance, graphic design, entertainment, horse riding, caring for animals, etc.) that could be required, you will most likely be doing that half of the time you are there.

Lalapanzi has 2 bars, the Lady's bar and the Sport's bar.
The lady's bar is a smaller bar with a lot of character, as it still looks almost the same as when it first opened. Everyone just love's the lady's bar.
As for the Sports bar, which open on weekends for sports and functions. This is where local people like to enjoy a meal and watch mainly rugby.

Click here to visit Lalapanzi's website!

The dates are very flexible, you can show up and leave at anytime! No contractual agreement can make you stay for the predetermined period, and no hard feelings if you want to leave earlier & want to experience other regions of South Africa. Everyone loved South Africa & especially the Bar-tending which gave opportunity to really get to know the local people!
